2021/22 China Tax Conference
Trusted. Transformational. Together.
2021 marks the beginning of China's "14th Five-Year Plan", the historical convergence of the "Two Centenary Goals" and a year of special importance in China's modernization drive.
This past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has been protracted and repeated around the world, and the growth of global trade and investment has slowed down. The global economy has faced major challenges such as balancing inflationary pressure and economic growth, addressing energy shortages, reducing carbon emissions and optimizing global value chains. At the same time, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is starting, and the digital transformation of the economy and society is accelerating. In such an international environment, the "two-pillar" solution to reset international tax rules has gained international consensus. The international tax system is stepping into a new era, which will undoubtedly bring new challenges and opportunities to international tax management.
China's "14th Five-year Plan" outlines new goals and tasks for the next five years to improve the modern tax system. While continuing to optimize and improve the direct tax and local tax systems, it proposes a new goal of building smart tax and promoting the modernization of tax collection and administration. This year, the Chinese government has continued to implement macro policies aimed at increasing support for efforts to ensure employment, people's wellbeing and the operation of market entities. It has adhered to the strategy of expanding domestic demand, strengthened the strategic support of science and technology, and promoted the transformation to green and low-carbon energy. New drivers of growth accelerated, and new industries, new forms and models of business unleashed tremendous vitality.
In the context of the biggest tax change in a century, the Deloitte "2021/22 China Tax Conference" starts from Shanghai on December 27th and tours to Shenzhen, Suzhou, Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu and Hong Kong SAR.
