Impact of the 2016 elections – Trump's individual income tax policy decisions ahead

Invitation

The campaign is over. The nation has voted. The election of a new president handed Donald Trump significant authority over federal tax law and regulations. Donald Trump will soon have the opportunity to try to advance a tax policy agenda aimed at promoting economic growth by reducing tax for businesses and individuals. Trump’s proposals for individuals include significant tax relief—in the form of rate cuts, some new proposed incentives, and the repeal of some existing taxes—coupled with proposed base-broadening measures.

It is unclear whether the tax code changes that Trump has envisioned will be enacted into law, however, Trump’s goal of reforming the tax code likely will be made easier by the fact that Republicans will control the House of Representatives and the Senate in 2017. We will hold a presentation on December 1st on Trump's tax policy agenda and other tax issues which you should consider in planning for 2017 and beyond, and we would like to invite you to this presentation. Major topics include but may not limit to:

  • Overview of Trump’s tax reform plan and planning ideas
  • 2017 updated federal tax key facts and figures
  • Non-US financial accounts/assets reporting obligations

Looking forward to your coming!
