Thirteen Portuguese companies are among the 500 fastest growing tech companies

 

Portugal has thirteen companies in the Technology Fast 500 EMEA Ranking, an annual ranking compiled by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL), which distinguishes the 500 companies in the technology sector in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region with the largest growth rates turnover in the last five years.

 

 

AdClick heads the front for Portuguese companies, positioned in 44th place in the top 50, with a relevant increase of 3,113 per cent, followed by Go4Mobility (115th position in the overall ranking) and CJSuper - Telecommunications Offices and Services (121th place).

Global performance

 

In its 13th edition, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 annual ranking classifies public or private technology companies, media, telecommunications, life sciences and "green technologies" in 24 countries in the EMEA region, based on percentage growth over the past five years . This year, the program received more than 1,000 applications.

 

 

Leading the Fast 500 is France, through the company Ymagis whose impressive growth stood at 59,096%. Digital cinema specialists, this company has been leading a revolution in cinema in Europe, helping its partners make the transition from traditional 35 mm film for more efficient digital solutions.

 

 

Overall, and for the fourth consecutive year, France leads the ranking represented by 86 companies, followed by the UK with 71 companies and the Netherlands with 52 companies.

 

 

This year, the Fast 500 recorded an average revenue growth of around 1403 percent, with a slight decrease compared to 1.549 percent in 2012.

France had a strong presence with two companies in this year`s top ten ranking.  Israel also had significant presence with three companies placing in the top ten.

The software sector represents 43 percent of the overall ranking, with 232 companies represented in this year's Fast 500, followed by the Internet sector with 22 percent. Rounding out the sector list was telecommunications / networking (15 percent), semiconductors / components / electronics (7 percent), biotech / pharmaceutical / medical equipment (5 percent), "green technologies" (3 percent), media / entertainment (3 percent) and computers / peripherals (2 percent).
