Fast 50: Central Europe is dominated by the Czechs, 19 of them among the 50 fastest growing tech firms

Prague, 17 October 2019 – The ranking of the fifty fastest growing technology companies in Central Europe is dominated by Czech companies this year. In the twentieth annual Deloitte CE Technology Fast 50, there are nineteen of them. The second place was taken by last year’s winner, 3D printer manufacturer Prusa Research. The third place belongs to artificial intelligence and machine learning developers Blindspot Solutions. Czech companies were also successful in the Big 5 and the Rising Stars categories. The winner of the ranking is the Lithuanian Voltas IT, which manufactures a user friendly system for car diagnostics.

Deloitte’s partners at today’s award ceremony in the Prague club La Fabrika include Citibank, Bisnode and StartupJobs.cz. Deloitte Technology Fast 50 compares the growth of the enrolled technological companies in the last four years, this year therefore in the period from 2015 to 2018. Top 10 include four Czech companies. The sales of second-ranking Prusa Research reached 4,527% and Blindspot on the third place recorded 4,445%. The ninth place within Central Europe is held by the wireless localisation system manufacturer Sewio Networks from Brno with a growth of 1,285%, and the tenth place belongs to the app developer Applifting with a growth of 1,265%.

The second ten of the ranking includes another five Czech companies – rohlik.cz (12th  place, 1,166%), 3Dwiser (13th place, 1,133%), Kiwi.com (15th place, 950%), Proficio Marketing (19th place, 832%) and GLAMI (20th place, 820%).

“Czech companies grow at a breakneck speed and it does not look like they are going to slow down anytime soon. They dominate the Central European ranking for the second year running,” says Jiří Sauer, leader of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE in the Czech Republic.

“Aside from Central Europe, last year’s winners were also successful in the EMEA region, where they appeared in top five. I think this says a lot about the ability of Czech entrepreneurs to innovate and run businesses,” adds Kateřina Novotná, Deloitte’s specialist in tech companies.

The winner of the Rising Star category, which concerns companies that could not get in the main competition due to their short time on the market, was the fintech company FF Trader. The Big 5 category, i.e. companies with turnover exceeding EUR 25 million, is headed by Prusa Research this year.

In the Recognition of Excellence category, Deloitte awards companies in the Czech Republic that use technologies in business in interesting ways. Deloitte’s expert jury selected DoDo, Pocket Virtuality and XEVOS Solutions this year.

Companies from nine different countries have made it to the Deloitte CE Technology Fast 50 ranking this year. The average growth rate of technological companies for 2015 to 2018 reached a record of 1,129%.
