Deloitte named a leader in Asia Pacific in managed security services by IDC
NEW YORK, NY, USA, 15 February 2019 — International Data Corporation (IDC) has ranked Deloitte a leader in their report entitled, IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Managed Security Services 2018 Vendor Assessment. IDC recognizes Deloitte as a leader based on capabilities and strategies.
“The integrated business focus and multidisciplinary approach uniquely positions Deloitte's managed security services at the intersection of business transformation, regulation, compliance, and cyberdefense,” notes Cathy Huang, senior research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Security Services and author of the report. “Deloitte's expertise in risk allows it to help clients build effective cyber risk strategies that enable them to grow and share without deferring compliance.”
IDC describes the MarketScape as “a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the characteristics that explain a vendor's success in the marketplace and help anticipate the vendor's ascendancy.” The report assesses the capability and business strategy of the leading business consulting organizations.
“Amidst an increasingly uncertain environment, it is critical to go beyond what the current market offers by looking end-to-end to create robust cyber risk program as opposed to an IT security program,” says James Nunn-Price, Deloitte Asia Pacific Cyber Risk Services leader. “At Deloitte, we are dedicated to finding innovative solutions that solve today’s most challenging security risks—while building trust and helping our clients achieve business results.”
According to IDC, “As organizations progress on their proficiency and maturity levels on security, we see more mature organizations leveraging robust risk management capabilities to guide their IT security programs, representing a strong interplay of technology, process, and people.”
“As Deloitte looks to the future, we will continue to align our cyber risk approach with clients’ strategic objectives—understanding that organizations are currently struggling to deliver effective solutions,” adds Dave Kennedy, Deloitte Asia Pacific Risk Advisory leader. “With cyber becoming an essential business disruptor, Deloitte is steadfastly focused on leveraging emerging technologies combined with our breadth of knowledge to cultivate cyber as a key business driver and value creator.”
Additional report findings:
- “Deloitte is known for promoting flexibility and customization for each individual employee's career path via its Mass Career Customization program, which encourages employees to move more fluidly and flexibly throughout the organization as desire and demand require. It provides its security professionals access to Deloitte's multidisciplinary and global resources, for example, by encouraging MSS specialists to work in financial crimes, fraud, and forensics. As a professional services [network], staff development and training is crucial for its services delivery and quality. The vendor has been continuously recognized as an eminent employer globally and in the region.”
- “In addition, Deloitte invests heavily in industry-based thought leadership and research into cyber risks affecting clients in each major industry and develops threat models and industry-specific SIEM detection content and use cases. This is also in line with its go-to-market strategy, which is generally aligned by industry. The primary target verticals include financial services, energy and resources, public sector, and property management and commercial real estate. Very often, the Cyber Risk practice works closely with Deloitte Digital to embed security into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and cloud-based digital solutions.”
- “Among all the "Big Four," Deloitte is one of the earlier ones to realize the trend of digital and start building a wide array of digital technology and operational capabilities. It has a strong portfolio of services focused on assisting its clients in transforming a legacy IT security program into a more proactive cyber risk program.”
