Sunday, 9 October

This is the 1st day in Athens. Upon your arrival at the hotel Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, you are kindly invited to join us for welcome drinks and a warm-up gathering at Atlantis Veranda at 20:00. The hotel is located in Vouliagmeni, a coastal suburb in the southern part of Athens, about 25km away from the Athens Airport, meaning a 30’ – 40’ ride by car. 

If you would like to pick a taxi from the airport, there are plenty of taxi stands located in designated areas outside the Airport’s Arrivals at Exit 3. Taxis in Athens are yellow and you may pre book your taxi by accessing Airport Taxi. The cost for this transfer will be approximately 50€-70€.

Meeting location

Monday, 10 October

The event’s presentations will start on Monday from 9:00am onwards as per the attached schedule. All sessions will take place in Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso hotel in 2 meeting rooms, Athina Hall and Poseidon AB, where parallel sessions will take place. The registration process will run at the entrance of Athina Hall at 8:15 until 8.45.

Lunch will be served at the hotel’s Anemos Restaurant at 13:30. Dinner will be hosted in Labros restaurant at 20:00. The restaurant is located a few minutes away from the hotel. There will be two buses at the hotel’s parking area at 19:30 to transfer you to the restaurant and then return you to the hotel, so there is no need to book a taxi.  

Tuesday, 11 October

This is the 2nd day of presentations starting from 9:00am, as scheduled. The sessions will end around 13:00 and from that time onwards you may arrange your departure at your best convenience.

 

 

Prepare for your visit

Time zone: Athens time zone is Eastern European Summer Time (EEST).

Temperature: The average daytime highs run about 73°F (23°C) while the nighttime lows drop to about 59°C (15°C).

Language: The official language in Greece is Greek, but English is also widely spoken, so you shouldn't experience any problems when visiting the city.

Covid-19 guidelines: According to the protocols of the Greek Government, from March 2022 travelers to Greece are no longer required to fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF). Additionally, from May 2022 onwards passengers are no longer required to display a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from Covid-19.

Attire: Please be guided by these instructions for appropriate attire:

  • Sunday evening welcome drinks – smart casual (jeans appropriate) 
  • Monday and Tuesday daytime sessions – business casual
  • Monday Dinner –  smart casual (jeans appropriate) 

Currency: Euros (EUR): View current market conversion rates.

Sustainability: Deloitte aspires to make ΕΜΕΑ Quant Meeting 2022  a sustainable, zero-waste event by diverting 90% of nonhazardous waste from landfills. Your support is critical in helping us reach this goal. Participants are encouraged to avoid bringing outside waste to the event (e.g., coffee cups, single-use water bottles). When disposing of waste, be sure to place recyclables, compostables and trash in the appropriate bins. Consider public transport while exploring the city and for your airport transfers.
