Additional Findings
  • “Deloitte organizes procurement operations services through the sourcing & procurement arm of its operations consulting practice and coordinates its offering through a network of four global centers of excellence charged with ensuring consistent service delivery across regions.”
  • “Believing that a secular increase in uncertainty necessitates new capabilities and a broader mandate for procurement, Deloitte employs its “True North” framework to guide clients in better integrating procurement with finance and risk management on the one hand and the supply chain and customers on the other. Critical in this context, for Deloitte, are three points.”
    • “One, the firm advocates much tighter alignment between procurement and finance and seeks to enable this through better visibility into the linkages between procurement targets and financial outcomes.”
    • “Two, Deloitte is a strong proponent of improving procurement’s technology assets and outsourcing resources. Examples include the firm’s S&P Dashboard for tracking spending and risk, D-ICE content extraction tool that uses IBM Watson natural language processing to evaluate invoices and contracts, and Process X-RAY tool for evaluating invoicing time stamps to evaluate handoffs and cycle times as a basis for improving the procure-to-pay process.”
    • “Three, Deloitte deploys a comprehensive training curriculum and lab for new CPOs to help clients improve their procurement talent.”

As used in this press release, “Deloitte” refers only to the DTTL member firms.
