Deloitte at WEF’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2014

The World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC) is held each September in China. Established in 2007 as the foremost global gathering on science, technology and innovation, it convenes the next generation of fast-growing enterprises with world leaders from business, government, media and civil society.

This year's Annual Meeting of the New Champions was held in Tianjin, China, on 10-12 September. More than 1,500 participants from 90 countries convened under the theme "Creating Value through Innovation", which integrated the following four pillars:

  • Connect- By applying the latest tools and best practices to learn and lead in a fast-paced world
  • Catalyse- By unlocking creativity and reducing complexity to increase strategic and operational agility
  • Compete- By tapping into new markets and fulfilling unmet needs
  • Contribute- By sharing how your business success drives social progress

Deloitte’s delegation was led by Gary Coleman, Managing Director, Global Industries. Other members of the delegation included:

Speaking roles

Deloitte led and engaged AMNC delegates in several programme sessions. As part of the public programme Gary Coleman, Head of Delegation, moderated the session Got Talent? on September 11. The session explored how enterprises attract and leverage an increasingly social, local and mobile workforce. The panellists included:

  • Ho Ren Hua, Executive Director and Country Head, Banyan Tree Holdings
  • Jeffrey Joerres, Executive Chairman, ManpowerGroup
  • Lu Mingxia, Founder, CareerFrog
  • Fabio Rosati, Chief Executive Officer, Elance-oDesk
