GC priorities in 2021 - Survey report

The onset of the pandemic saw general counsels and their teams address employee safety and benefits, regulatory issues, and contractual and supply chain impact, according to the 2020 Deloitte Legal Department strategy survey.

But going forth, GCs have indicated the following areas as a priority and expect to develop strategies to address them

  • Return to work policies
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Cyber security

In the long terms, GCs also need to consider questions around training junior lawyers, passing on institutional knowledge, building resilience and maintaining a culture of compliance and building trust.
