Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace
Some frequently asked questions
The Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a workshop titled “Effective Functioning of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)” in Mumbai on 19 January 2018. The objective of the session was to help address the role of the ICC at the workplace under the Protection of Women against Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
We as guest speakers, represented by Veena Sharma (Director – Forensic), interacted with the audience to help understand the roles and responsibilities of ICC members as well as shared some relevant case studies that were interactive in nature. To help the attendees get clarity on some of the pain points that they could face in their role, Deloitte’s Forensic practice in India created and distributed a hand out that addresses some of the nuances of what constitutes sexual harassment, the redressal process of complaints filed with the ICC as well as some questions pertaining to tenure, timelines, processes etc.
