School safety: Need for a new due diligence approach

In the last decade, while India has seen tremendous growth of private and public educational institutes and a lot has been done in the areas to increase employment opportunities for teachers and support staff, recent incidents of physical abuse at school involving young children, indicate that students’ safety is perhaps an area that needs to come to the forefront.

To help address this need on an immediate basis, this latest point of view document from Deloitte’s Forensic practice in India takes into account the growing school ecosystem, some of the safety initiatives that schools are currently investing in and a new due diligence approach that should be considered along with some its parameters.
