Tax alert: CBDT notifies income-tax return Forms for FY 2023-24

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), vide Notification No. 105/2023 dated 22 December 2023, Notification No. 16/2024 dated 24 January 2024 and Notification No. 19/2024 dated 31 January 2024, has notified Income tax Return (ITR) Forms [ITR-1 to ITR-6] for furnishing the return of income for the Financial Year 2023-24, corresponding to the Assessment Year 2024-25.
Background:
• The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the income-tax return (ITR) Forms for the Financial Year (FY) 2023-24, corresponding to the Assessment Year (AY) 2024-25:
― ITR-1 and ITR-4 vide Notification No. 105/20231, dated 22 December 2023
― ITR-6 vide Notification No. 16/20242, dated 24 January 2024
― ITR-2, ITR-3 and ITR-5 vide Notification No. 19/20243 dated 31 January 2024.
