Ajay Pillai

Ajay has experience of over 20 years in providing Environment Social Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Finance related advisory work to clients across diverse sectors such as Oil & Gas, renewable energy, power, roads/highways, infrastructure, manufacturing etc. His expertise covers developing, implementing, and monitoring ESG strategy roadmap and framework and supporting clients in their water neutrality, zero landfill, low carbon strategies etc.
He has significant exposure to E&S impact assessments/ Independent reviews as well as in the development and implementation of ESG management frameworks. He has worked with various funds in developing a mechanism for ESG screening of projects seeking capital investments as well as a mechanism for post-project monitoring. He has worked closely with multiple DFIs such as IFC, ADB, AIIB, CDC, etc for various ESG studies. He has also helped his clients implement various aspects of Sustainability Standards such IFC, UNPRI, UNSDG, SASB, TCFD etc. in their operations. He has been involved with ESG review of supply chains, labour audits, and Health and Safety trainings for various sectors.
