Sanjoy Datta

Sanjoy is a Partner with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP. Sanjoy leads the Financial Services industry sector for South Asia. Sanjoy earlier led the Strategy Practice (Monitor Deloitte) during which time he advised several large conglomerates, domestic and foreign corporates on various aspects of business and corporate strategy. Besides his Consulting experience, Sanjoy also brings in-depth line experience of the Banking & Financial Service Industry having worked across multiple disciplines including retail banking, corporate banking, structured finance and capital markets with various multi-national institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC and Deutsche Bank, both in India and overseas.

Sanjoy’s recent engagements include

• Multi-year engagement with one of India’s newest universal banks from launch of operations to developing and executing on business strategy including new business verticals, branch expansion and customer acquisition. The engagement including creating a “CEO dashboard”.
• Transforming operations of India’s largest microfinance institution into a Small Finance bank including developing customer acquisition strategy and product offering strategy and business monitoring processes
• Multi-year engagement focusing on business and operating model transformation for a leading private sector bank in Sri Lanka
• Advising a leading US based retail services provider on a differentiated go-to-market strategy for accelerated growth in their traditional business offerings
• Multi-year engagement with the largest non-governmental development organisation in Bangladesh dealing with new product/business launch – from conceptualization to pilot to scale and revamp of an existing business portfolio
• Leading pre-IPO related engagement with Life Insurance Corporation of India (country’s largest life insurance company)
• Sanjoy is also the Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer, Deloitte South Asia.
