Shailesh Tyagi

Shailesh leads the Climate Change & Sustainability offerings Strategy, Risk & Transactions practice at Deloitte India. He has over two and half decades of hands-on experience in the domain, with more than a decade of experience establishing successful advisory services for the Big 4s including the biggest pure-play sustainability consulting firm in Australia, New Zealand, and India. He possesses a niche expertise of driving the ESG and NetZero roadmap and implementation across large organisations in India and overseas. He also actively supported Deloitte Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore practices.

Shailesh specialises in making a business case for sustainability, focusing on value creation through the lenses of natural, human, social, and financial capital, as well as impact measurement. He is an expert in fugitive emissions in Energy and Resources sectors and tech-enabled Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) solutions.

Shailesh served on the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) scenario analysis panel, led the development of fugitive emissions guidance in the mining and metals industry in Australia, and more recently, he spearheaded the development of India's first assurance standard for sustainability.

An Indian Australian, he calls Sydney home, is a UNSW Sydney alumnus, lifts weights and practices taekwondo regularly and is a dedicated family man.
