Deloitte Italia to relocate Rome office to new headquarters focused on sustainability and wellbeing, by end of 2022

The announcement of Deloitte’s new LEED, BREEAM and WELL certified headquarters in Via Vittorio Veneto 89 follows the recent move of the head office in Corso Italia in Milan.

Milan, 24 June 2021Deloitte Italia announces the relocation of its Rome offices to new Headquarters located at Via Vittorio Veneto 89 - Rome. The building will be formally utilized as Deloitte’s headquarters from the end of 2022 onwards. Deloitte will lease the building which spans across approx. 15,000 sqm and accommodate over 1,600 employees. The building is owned by a Sicaf, a company wholly participated by Ardian and managed by Prelios SGR.

The building complex is architecturally elegant, boasting a neoclassical style designed in 1928 by the Milanese architect Carlo Broggi and located in the heart of the historic centre of Rome, near Piazza Barberini. It is noteworthy, that this is the only building with a triple certification (LEED, BREEAM and WELL), a clear reflection of the scrupulous approach applied during the design phase – with focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. This approach is a reflection of an earlier decision made to move Deloitte’s the Milanese headquarter into a smart building in Corso Italia.

Fabio Pompei, CEO of Deloitte Italia, declared: “After announcing the new headquarters in Corso Italia 23, in the heart of Milan, our network is also ready to announce the relocation in the hearth of Rome, into the innovative headquarters in via Vittorio Veneto. The new building will be a state-of-the-art facility, capable of combining sustainability and a well-being friendly environment, in line with Deloitte's values and mission. In compliance with our program Impact for Italy, we want to multiply our efforts to offer a tangible contribution to Italy, acting with ethics and integrity towards our customers, our community and our people. The new Roman headquarters is a proof of that.”

Rodolfo Petrosino, Senior Managing Director for Southern Europe of Ardian Real Estate, said: "The building is currently undergoing redevelopment with a particular focus on issues related to space flexibility, occupant well-being and sustainability, which will allow us to achieve particularly high standards. This is a feat especially significant considering the rich history of the building, and a reflection of Ardian's increasing focus coupling an approach which integrates an ESG conscious approach and high quality assets. The agreement signed between Deloitte and the Sicaf confirms that, despite the pandemic, companies continue to consider the office as a fundamental workplace, provided that they invest in modern and efficient spaces that meet the new post-Covid requirements".

Elena Vistarini, Real Estate Industry Leader of Deloitte Italia, added: “After the pandemic, our network is betting on new working spaces: after the change of headquarters in Milan, also in Rome Deloitte has decided to move into new headquarters by choosing a smart building with triple certification - LEED, BREEAM and WELL. A very targeted choice that aims to combine architectural value and energy efficiency, even in a historical context with more difficulty in reaching ambitious environmental targets. A great result that we have achieved thanks to the collaboration with Ardian and Prelios”.

Patrick Del Bigio, CEO of Prelios SGR, commented: "The development of the property confirms the interest in the office sector and how the quality of the offices is perceived to be even more important after the pandemic event. The quality of the spaces in terms of liveability and sustainability is increasingly becoming a competitive factor for companies, which need to experience the property, and for potential investors in the long term. The project also confirms the interest of investors in the Roman market and the presence of Prelios SGR in this market. We are in a context of regeneration of urban heritage, which combines the elements of historical value of the property in Via Vittorio Veneto 89 with the characteristics of usability and the best standards of sustainability, having the triple certification LEED, BREEAM and WELL, the result of the ability of Prelios SGR to achieve an increasing integration of ESG issues in the process of investment enhancement".

The agreements signed between the parties provide certainty for a 12-year lease. Sicaf was supported in the negotiations by GVA Redilco.
