Philip's Recife experience

Greetings everyone! My name is Philip Adikimenakis and I am an intern in the Deloitte US Audit practice, and would like to share my adventures of this past summer.

Never in my most vivid of dreams would I have imagined such an amazing opportunity to participate in the Global Internship Program in the beautiful country of Brazil. When I learned of my acceptance abroad, I couldn't help but think of all the incredible experiences to be had. My internship was set to span an entire month and, prior to the program, I wasn’t sure what to expect because this was my first international assignment. It is safe to say I eagerly anticipated what was to come!

My anticipation changed to excitement almost immediately after my arrival. As soon as I met my colleagues in Deloitte Brazil’s Recife office, I immediately began building strong relationships that will last a lifetime. Each week I had the chance to explore and receive an in-depth understanding of the clients and engage with many of my great colleagues. I also visited many breathtaking landmarks and cultural attractions during my stay, including Rio de Janeiro.

I am grateful for the opportunity Deloitte provided me to realize my dreams. My advice for achieving your goal, whatever it may be, is to adopt a positive outlook on life. I would encourage everyone to apply for this remarkable program as it not only expands your international network within Deloitte member firms, but it also expands your understanding of the ever changing and dynamic world around you.
