Deloitte CIS announces the launch of legal services for technology projects

Moscow, Russia, 5 September 2016. Deloitte CIS announces that it will start providing legal services for technology projects. This became possible after Deloitte acquired a local law firm, Tolkachev and Partners.

“The development of a digital economy is on the agenda for most of our clients. Technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence and driverless vehicles, among others, create enormous opportunities for our clients, but also pose challenges and risks in light of constantly evolving regulations and a high degree of uncertainty. As new regulations always lag behind new technologies and digital business models, a good legal advisor must fully understand the underlying technologies, industry specifics and the regulatory climate to find the best solutions for novel business models.

We are very glad that Artem Tolkachev and his team (Nikita Soshnikov, Ildar Zverev and four qualified lawyers) agreed to join our Tax & Legal professionals. Their extensive experience in legal advisory as regards disruptive technologies enriched by Deloitte’s competence in data analytics, strategy, operations, cybersecurity, financial advisory and tax will create an exceptional experience for our clients,” said Grigory Pavlotsky, Managing Partner, Tax & Legal, Deloitte CIS.

“We are excited to join the Deloitte team and believe that this intergration will fully utilise our specific industry knowledge and develop a multifaceted approach to adressing clients’ problems,” said Artem Tolkachev, Managing Partner, Tolkachev and Partners.

Tolkachev and Partners have successfully delivered a number of projects related to the legal structuring of digital businesses. The firm has also supported M&A transactions and venture capital investments, represented digital businesses community during Internet censorship and IP asset protection litigation and as part of public initiatives related to the Internet and e-commerce.

Deloitte CIS and Tolkachev and Partners share the same views on conducting business, which is particularly important in remaining a reliable advisor. We continue to deliver high-quality services and practical adviceto our clients. Additionally, we pay special attention to innovation, fairness, trust and long-term cooperation.

We firmly believe that combining our firms’ experience and knowledge will significantly enhance our clients’ capabilities.
