«Deloitte» appoints Rustam Mukhametshin to head its Caspian Region forensic practice

The Deloitte Kazakhstan practice, which historically specialised in audit and financial consulting, launched its new Forensic service line from 1 December 2015. The focus of Forensic is to investigate cases of fraud and improper practices.

The Deloitte Moscow office has sent one of its most experienced forensic experts to Kazakhstan – Director Rustam Mukhametshin – to develop the practice in the Caspian Region. “We are the first Big Four company to set up a forensic department in Kazakhstan. My professional goal is to promote and develop our services in Kazakhstan, help clients minimise financial and reputation risks from fraud, abuse and corruption. We are the first to have done this locally, and our goal is to be the leader. My personal goal is to justify the trust that has been put in me and develop the forensic practice in Kazakhstan,” Rustam noted.

The Deloitte forensic team has 15 years of experience in the CIS of investigating hundreds of cases of fraud, locating missing assets and working on projects to prevent fraud, asset theft and corruption. Deloitte is currently working on launching major forensic projects in Kazakhstan for several major companies from various sectors of the economy.

Two years ago, Deloitte hired a group of highly qualified engineers and quantity surveyors specialising in the control of construction processes and investigating fraud in the construction industry.

As has been noted in Deloitte, the opening of a local Forensic practice has been brought about by two main facts: a significantly large number of similar projects are already been carried out in Kazakhstan, and the opening of a local division will help improve the way we serve our clients in Kazakhstan.
