Space exploration, resource utilization and potentially the population of space has fascinated humans for a long time dating back to the days before Galileo. Today, with the joint effort of governments, agencies, NGOs, and commercial companies, access to space has come closer and even become part of our daily life.
Just like its size, space possesses seemingly unlimited potential. Now it is a matter of exploring the different opportunities and bringing the benefits back down to earth or leveraging them to advance further into space.
As the industry is rapidly growing, it is important to keep an overview of the different companies and sectors served in Luxembourg.
The space companies in Luxembourg are classified in the following four segments:
- The Space Segment companies – including manufacturing of satellite and instrument structures, system integration of micro-satellites, electric propulsion for satellites, robotic payloads, in-space manufacturing, composites, Radio Frequency (RF) payloads and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA).
- The Ground Segment companies – including ground station development, mechanical and electrical ground support equipment, communication networks and operations.
- The Service Segment companies – including teleport services, satellite-based media, and telecommunications services as well as risk management services.
- The Other Segments companies – including companies that do not classify in any of the above but are an essential piece of the Luxembourg space environment.
