Richard joined Deloitte in 2000. As the Technology & Security Leader of Deloitte in Malta, Richard is responsible for IT governance, risk and compliance; cyber, information and physical security; business resilience and continuity planning; business-specific and enterprise applications; IT projects; network, communications and systems management; end user operations; IT financial planning as well as contracts management.

In 2018, Richard was appointed as Chief Confidentiality Officer (CCO) of Deloitte Malta, responsible for implementing strategic alignment of the confidential information (CI) protection strategy and driving the necessary change within leadership and across Deloitte Malta.

In 2021, Richard was officially appointed Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Deloitte Central Mediterranean (DCM), a combined firm comprising Deloitte Italy, Deloitte Greece and Deloitte Malta. As CSO, Richard is responsible for security management, background screening, travel security, physical security of premises, business continuity, crisis management, security incident response, accounting for people, emergency communications as well as security investigations across Deloitte in Italy, Greece and Malta.

Richard brings a wealth of experience to the central management team and is a certified security auditor specialised in various technology and security certifications including CISSP, CISM, ITIL3 & 4, Prince2, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, and ISO 22301 Lead Implementer & Auditor. Richard is a member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA). Over the years, he has attained various technology certifications and was a certified Microsoft MCT for over 12 years. Richard is an honours graduate holding first class honours in Computing & Information Security.

In June 2021, Richard was appointed to the position of Director of Technology & Security at Deloitte Malta.
