Reformas Código Civil Nuevo León sobre fuerza mayor y arrendamientos

El 2 de octubre se publicaron en el Periódico Oficial del Estado de Nuevo León los Decretos No. 357 y 358, mediante los cuales se reformaron los artículos 2005 y 2326 del Código Civil para el Estado de Nuevo León (“CCNL”).

Dichos artículos se refieren a la teoría de la imprevisión, caso fortuito y fuerza mayor, figuras jurídicas que han tomado especial relevancia en materia contractual derivado de la actual crisis económica generada por la pandemia del COVID-19.

Amendments Nuevo Leon Civil Code regarding force majeure and leases

On October 2, Decrees No. 357 and 358 were published in the Official Gazette of the State of Nuevo Leon, whereby articles 2005 and 2326 of the Civil Code for the State of Nuevo Leon (the “Civil Code”) were amended.

Referring to the theory of “unforeseen events” acts of god and force majeure, legal figures that have taken special relevance in contractual matters arising from the current economic crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
