The introduction of GST has given Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) greater focus and more resources to regulate indirect taxes in Malaysia. While businesses have spent a significant amount of time to get ready for GST, it is important to not lose sight of RMCD’s primary focus being the regulation of the movement of goods into and outside of Malaysia and the collection of customs duties.
