Small Scale LNG

Mozambique Domgas Series - Part 5

The global quest for cleaner energy while remaining cost competitive has fuelled the rising demand for more flexible natural gas supply methods.

Natural Gas is commonly distributed in gaseous form to end users via a network of pipelines and is a very low cost source of energy; however, the challenge experienced by small end users is that access requires sufficient capital, long term supply agreements or access to existing natural gas pipeline infrastructure.
Small Scale LNG (SSLNG) is the use of small liquefaction and regasification
facilities that enable flexible supply chains to deliver to multiple smaller
distributed users.

This 6 minute read looks at the benefits, risks and uses for SSLNG in the Southern African region
