27th Edition

Those who aspire to new challenges come out stronger on the other side.

The Investor Relations & Governance Awards (IRG Awards) is a Deloitte initiative to reward best practices in the Portuguese financial market.

Distinguishing the top performers and highlighting (1) the policies and attitudes of transparency, (2) the quality of information produced and (2) the investor relations are all elements of IRGA.

CEOs from companies listed on Euronext Lisbon, teams of Investor Relations Officers and the largest and most prestigious institutions all recognize the IRG Awards as being a prestigious and credible award for best practices in Investor Relations developed in previous year.

The initiative is developed in partnership with Diário Económico.

The personalities and companies that excelled in the Portuguese financial market in 2013 were distinguished at the 27th IRG Awards Gala ceremony. Check out the winners here.

The 27th edition of IRGA

Categories

CEOs from companies listed on Euronext Lisbon, teams of Investor Relations Officers and the largest and most prestigious institutions all recognize the IRG Awards as being a prestigious and credible award for best practices in Investor Relations developed in 2013.

    • All personalities and institutions that have played an important role in Investor Relations can be nominated and awarded by this prestigious initiative, impartially and independently.

Jury

The mission of the jury is to ensure the rigor and transparency of all procedures and decide on the winners. There are prizes awarded through the jury`s direct decisions and awards based on nominations made ​​by an electoral college. For more information about the role of the jury and the awards model consult Regulations.

Electoral College

The universal electoral college consists of representatives from companies operating in the financial market, with special focus on listed companies, investment houses and brokers.

 

The personalities who represent the electoral college play direct roles or are indirectly related to investor relations. The definition of the electoral college meets the guidelines set by the jury as to the number of representatives and entities that compose it, ensuring the representativeness of the sector, the balance between the entities represented, and considering the size and nature of the activities of the entities represented.

 

In categories with greater technical specificity there is qualified electoral college, from which segmentation criteria are applied depending on the categories that are being targeted for nomination. The nomination`s phase for the 27th edition of the Investor Relations & Governance Awards takes place about a month before the Gala awards ceremony, and participants from the electoral college receive a personalized invitation to make nominations and access respective data.

 

The different participants will be asked to nominate in different categories, depending on their specific area of ​​operation.

Nomination Guide

As a guide for nominations, the promoters of the initiative and the jury have prepared a set of guiding criteria for the categories subject to the nomination process.

 

Therefore, in the evaluation of IRGA´s Personality Award, the following criteria are privileged:

 

  • Knowledge of company and sector
  • Communication skills and strategic vision
  • Availability to contact the market
  • Contribution to the overall performance of the company in the market
  • Capability of working with the market and its agents
  • Performance in policies and company funding
  • Access to and relationship with management
  • Reputation
  • Rigor
  • Consistency of research and price targets, if applicable
  • Independence
  • Experience
  • Solid / technical knowledge
 
Regarding the Performance Award subject to the condition of the market, it is recommended that nominations made ​​by the electoral college take into account the following:
 
  • Quality reporting to the market
  • Speed ​​and efficiency of response to market demands
  • Proactivity demonstrated in communication with the market
  • Relevance of the global investor relations program
  • Independence, rigor, transparency
  • Quality of research and consistency of the research team and price targets, if applicable
  • Quality of the information produced
  • Reputation, experience and credentials of the research team

Selection of Winners

The clearance of winners is based on voting categories of three groups with different valuation models:

 

  1. Consulting the market, approval procedures and deliberation by the jury;
  2. Jury deliberation, supported by prior treatment and technical evaluative information;
  3. Direct jury deliberation.

The 27th IRGA Gala ceremony took place July 3rd and enshrined those who have exceeded expectations and have grown stronger over the 2013 year in the Portuguese financial market.

An extraordinary ceremony that brought together the diverse personalities in the Portuguese financial world to see onstage those individuals that stood out in the Investor Relations market.
