17 December 2019

Deloitte Romania reconditioned completely and endowed with furniture and state-of-the-art equipment an amphitheater of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE). During the inauguration event of the new amphitheater, Deloitte Romania and ASE also signed a strategic partnership valid until September 2024, through which students will benefit from free workshops held by Deloitte experts, internships within the audit and consultancy firm, as well as various events organized by Deloitte for the development of students.

“Education has always been the main ingredient of progress on an individual, organizational and societal level, even before The Fourth Industrial Revolution increased significantly its stake. Soon, on continuous education, constantly adapted to the requirements derived from the rapid change of the workforce, will depend not only having success, but being relevant. At Deloitte, an organization of integrated professional expertise, the very business foundation is education in its multiple forms, in university, in practice, in internship, within our various professions. It is not by chance that education is Deloitte Romania’s main direction for investment: in our teams, in the hundreds of excellent professionals who are Deloitte alumni, in partnerships for building the professional competences of the future and in research and recommendations on how the business environment and the society can adapt to a reinventing workforce. Through the partnership with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, we aim to contribute to preparing and keeping in the country as many experts as possible, ready for the dramatic changes brought by the digital transformation of the world,” said Alexandru Reff, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Romania and Moldova.

The project for reconditioning the amphitheater no 2104, located in Virgil Madgearu ASE building, consisted of completely restoring room structure and in endowing it with a video projector, smart screen, smart lighting system, sound system, while all the devices are coordinated by the tablet incorporated in the teacher’s desk. The project also included reconditioning the room exterior wall, which has now become a working and leisure space for students during breaks.

The renovation works took five months and the total value of the project is approximately 130,000 euros. About 10,000 students of several faculties, namely Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics, Accounting and Administration Informatics, Business and Tourism, Marketing and International Economic Relations within ASE will attend the classes organized in this room every year.

“We chose to get involved in this project inspired by the idea of giving back to the community, in line with Deloitte values and with the priorities of the Millennials, who pay more and more attention to the business environment’s impact on society, in general. It is an honor for us to contribute to the development of the students and a great joy for me, personally, as an ASE graduate. In fact, most of my colleagues in the Tax practice are ASE graduates,” stated Vlad Boeriu, Tax Partner, Deloitte Romania, and coordinator of the project.

“The Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies is the promoter of strategic partnerships with the private sector, represented by large companies and employers active in Romania. They can contribute to the professional preparation of our students at the highest applicable standards, in order for them to perform with the most demanding employers. We welcome the closing of the strategic partnership with Deloitte Romania and we are happy our students and teachers will have the opportunity, thanks to this collaboration, to learn in conditions specific to the digital era,” said University Professor Nicolae Istudor, PhD, Rector of The Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.
