The AI Act lays down a uniform legal framework for the development, placing on the market, putting into service and use of artificial intelligence systems, in accordance with Union values. The development of new technologies will be subjected to a risk-based and proportionate approach, and the new requirements will apply to all operators along the AI value chain and lifecycle, including developers and users. With non-compliance subject to significant penalties, market participants have only a few months to prepare for the legislation’s provisions.
