EBA launches 2023 EU-wide stress test

At the end of last month, the European Banking Authority launched the 2023 EU-wide stress testing programme. This year’s exercise is set out to be one of the most demanding one of the last years, covering a large sample of banks and around 75% of total bank assets in the EU. The ECB will conduct part of the stress testing activity, while also extending this programme to some additional banks out of EBA’s sample.
