The Digitalisation Marathon: What does it entail and how do we prepare for the implementation of SAF-T in Romania?

What do we know about SAF-T reporting to ANAF? When will it begin and what does the implementation marathon consists of?

The announcement made by the Romanian tax authority to implement Standard Audit File for Tax (SAF-T) reporting with a more than ambitious implementation schedule has changed to some extent the digitalisation plans of Romanian companies. Although SAF-T is to become mandatory from January 1st 2022 only for companies with the status of large taxpayers, their feedback indicates that a longer period will be necessary for implementation.
