Cristian Popa – former Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Romania and former Vice-President and member in the Management Committee of the European Investment Bank
Cristian is the former Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Romania. He has also worked for the European Investment Bank as Vice-President and for the Government of Romania as a Macroeconomic Policy Director. Cristian was an ACE-PHARE Fellow with the NIESR in London, a Visiting Scholar at the William Davidson Institute of the University of Michigan and also a Fulbright fellow at Harvard University.
Andrei Burz-Pînzaru - Managing Partner, Reff & Associates - Deloitte Legal
Andrei has over 20 years multidisciplinary advisory experience in Banking, Capital Markets, M&A, Corporate Governance and legal risks management. He is recommended by IFLR1000 as a Leading Lawyer for Banking, Capital Markets and M&A in Romania. Prior to becoming a lawyer he was for several years a licensed securities broker and advisor on capital markets. On the Romanian secondary distressed debt market, Andrei advised the most important players, both banks and regional investors, in various local and cross-border complex non-performing and performing loan portfolio deals with aggregated face value of over EUR 6.5billion. Andrei also provides ongoing advice on various regulatory and compliance engagements in the financial sector. He advised lenders/borrowers in bilateral/ syndicated loans, LMBOs, debt restructuring & loan workouts and several securitization structures.
Alexandra Smedoiu – Partner, Direct Tax, Deloitte Romania
With 15 years of experience in tax advisory, Alexandra has coordinated over the time numerous projects both locally and internationally, especially for clients in the financial services industry, but also for companies from the real estate sector. Her professional experience includes a wide array of projects from tax reviews and tax audits, to assistance with mergers and acquisitions and tax controls. Alexandra is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants, a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) from the United Kingdom, a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation from the United Kingdom (ADIT), and a member of the Charted Financial Analyst Institute CFA. Alexandra is also vice-president of CFA Romania, the Romanian association of chartered financial analysts CFA.
Dimitrios Goranitis - Partner, Risk and Regulatory Advisory, Deloitte Romania
Dimitrios Goranitis is Financial Services Industry Risk and Regulatory Advisory Partner in Deloitte Romania. Dimitrios is leading Deloitte’s risk service offering in Central Europe focusing on banking regulatory strategy and supervision and credit risk transformation. Dimitrios is a member of the Banking Union Center in Frankfurt, a multidisciplinary team of financial services senior professionals from Deloitte’s practices across Europe that meets clients’ needs and requirements relative to the Banking Union. He is also a member of Deloitte EMEA Centre for Regulatory Strategy, an initiative that enables Deloitte to monitor regulatory development and maintain a dialogue with supranational regulatory bodies such as EBA, ESMA, EIOPA, ECB etc.
Radu Dumitrescu - Partner, Transaction Support, Deloitte Romania
Radu Dumitrescu has almost 20 years of experience in Big 4 companies. He dedicated more than 10 years of his professional life to numerous successful projects in transactions, mergers and acquisitions. Radu joined Deloitte Romania in 2011 and coordinated a multidisciplinary team specialized in due-diligence and transaction assistance services. Starting with 2016, he became Partner, coordinating the Transaction Support and Reorganization practice of Financial Advisory service line.
Bogdan Mazilu - Assistant Director, M&A Transaction Services, Deloitte Romania
Having 15 years of experience in different areas of banking and financial services, Bogdan integrates expertise from financial audit, accounting and controlling, internal audit, project management and leadership. Bogdan is a member of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK.
Andreea Șerban - Managing Associate, Reff & Associates - Deloitte Legal
Andreea specializes primarily in the banking and finance sector, with particular focus on projects regarding the disposal and servicing of large non-performing and performing loan portfolios. During the last 5 years, she has advised parties from all sides of the industry (banks, non-banking financial institutions, as well as investors and debt collection entities) in more than 20 high-profile loan portfolio deals, with a face value aggregating over EUR6.5 billion. Andreea has also valuable experience in the implementation of business transfer transactions and other M&A deals in the financial sector, as well as in the structuring of intragroup subparticipation arrangements and in the design of independent servicing platforms for a more efficient management of large volumes of NPLs. Additionally, she has extensive regulatory and compliance experience.

Daniel Grigore - Manager, Corporate & International Tax, Deloitte Romania
Daniel is a chartered tax advisor, being involved in various tax projects, e.g. M&A, group restructurings, tax due diligence projects, tax compliance, tax reviews, corporate and international tax advisory for major clients active on both the Romanian and international markets.
Daniel’s experience of more than 5 years covers all industries but currently he is part of Deloitte’s Financial Services Group and his client portfolio includes a variety of major clients active in various sectors such as banks, non-banking financial institutions, debt collection institutions, investment funds and insurance companies. He has also worked for companies active in the Manufacturing, Healthcare & Life Sciences and Retail industries.
Daniel has a bachelor degree in Finance and is currently working towards achieving an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT).
Loredana Salavastru - Senior Consultant, Indirect Tax, Deloitte Romania
Loredana has nearly 4 years of experience in the field of VAT, starting her career within Deloitte Romania. She has been involved in numerous VAT consulting projects such as tax reviews and tax audits, transaction assistance and tax controls for a wide range of companies in various industries, focusing in particular on the financial sector.
Loredana graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and holds a Master's degree in Finance from BI Norwegian Business School Oslo.
