Deloitte opens registration for the Technology Fast 50 competition
Bucharest, 13 May 2015 - Deloitte Romania announces the opening of registration for the Technology Fast 50 competition in Central Europe. The preeminent regional competition for companies in the technology sector, now in its 16th year, highlights both established and emerging technology companies in the region.
The competition allows Romanian companies measure their forces with their counterparts from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
The Central Europe Technology Fast 50 ranks the fastest growing technology companies based on their revenue growth over a four-year period. For the 2015 ranking, revenues from 2011 to 2014 will be analysed. This year the competition also opens for companies active in clean technology and life sciences.
“Being recognized as a Technology Fast 50 company provides increased visibility, brand recognition, and growth opportunities for companies that qualify in the ranking. We understand that it takes passion, dedication, and innovation to join this elite group, and we look forward to celebrating the 2015 winners”, said Alina Mirea, Partner Deloitte Romania and Fast 50 country leader.
Last year six companies from Romania were ranked by Deloitte’s CE Technology Fast 50 2014 placing the country third in the region. Sibiu-based ITNT ranked fourth, the highest ranked among the Romanian companies, with an average growth of 1,433%. Teamnet International SA came 3rd in the Big 5 category, which included larger fast-growing companies, and secured the 34th place (424% growth rate) in the main category Fast 50. Softelligence ranked 27th (459% growth rate), followed by Life is Hard SRL which held the 28th place (453% growth rate). Fortech came 37th (403%) and Trencadis 42nd (362%).
This year’s competition is divided into three categories:
Fast 50
In order for a company to be considered eligible for the main Fast 50 ranking, it must meet the following criteria:
- Annual revenues of at least 50,000 EUR in each year between 2011 and 2014
- Have its headquarters in a Central European country
- Develop or manufacture propriety technologies or spend a significant amount of capital on research & development
- Have an ownership structure that excludes majority-owned subsidiaries of strategic entities.
Winners are selected based on ranking eligible registrants by revenue growth over a four-year period from 2011 to 2014.
Rising Stars
In the ‘Rising Stars’ category, Deloitte ranks ‘young’ companies that show great potential but are too new to meet the minimum of four years in operation criteria for the main category. Eligible companies must be in operation between three and four years and exceed revenues of 30,000 EUR in each of the last three years (2012 – 2014). Otherwise the same criteria as for the main Fast 50 ranking apply.
Big 5
The ‘Big 5’ category ranks large fast-growing companies that have achieved extraordinary growth in the previous four years. To be eligible, companies must meet the same criteria as the main Fast 50 ranking with the exception of annual revenue in the final measured year (2014), which must exceed 25 million EUR for this category.
Online registration and eligibility criteria can be found on the regional Technology Fast 50 website at www.deloitte.com/fast50ce. Eligible registrants will be entered automatically into the Europe-wide competition known as the Deloitte EMEA Technology Fast 500.
Registration for this year’s ranking will close on 15 July 2015. The ranking will be announced in October 2015.
