Deloitte named a global leader by Kennedy in HR Consulting in Corporate Transactions
Press release
New York, NY, 15 January 2016– Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) is pleased to announce that Kennedy Research has named Deloitte member firms (Deloitte) global leaders in HR Consulting in Corporate Transactions in their report entitled HR Consulting in Corporate Transactions 2015.
Specifically for Deloitte, Kennedy notes “Deloitte has a proven capability to turnaround corporate transactions where HR has stumbled on the path to success, whether during the due diligence phase or integration planning and execution. Clients that have been “rescued” by Deloitte single out the consulting team’s deep understanding of their business and industry challenges as well as their flexibility and involvement at the operational level.”
“Global C-suite leaders are looking to HR teams to be involved earlier and longer with transactions. In fact, HR’s involvement becomes even more important the more complex a deal becomes, which requires HR to show up in a different way than in the past,” says Matt Usdin, Principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP in the US. “Our Human Capital M&A practice stays ahead of the trends by bringing insights from across our Human Capital and broader M&A practices, to deliver a broad range of offerings that help our HR clients bring value throughout the deal.”
The 2015 edition of the Kennedy report examines how consulting organizations are guiding companies to maximize HR’s contribution to a successful transaction. The research examines the breadth and depth of 21 consulting organizations assessed in The Kennedy Vanguard™ of Providers of HR Consulting in Corporate Transactions, which assesses the relative breadth and depth of their HR transformation consulting capabilities.
Additional Findings
- “Deloitte combines deep HR functional capability with M&A expertise to deliver services across all phases of the deal lifecycle. This integrated approach recognizes the increasing demand on HR in corporate transactions to achieve two goals: prepare the organization for the transition to becoming a new company and harmonize the new company’s HR function through either integration or divestment. The firm helps HR leaders reach these goals through industry-based human capital consulting expertise supported by a repository of intellectual property (e.g., solutions for culture mapping, workforce planning, organization design, HR function synergy planning) that reduces complexity, mitigates risk, and accelerates the transaction process.”
- “Deloitte has published extensive global research on the positive impact that an involved HR function brings to value creation in the deal-making process from the impact of talent on deal valuation and synergy realization to employee and customer retention. This body of research not only provides HR leaders with a business context for their role, but also helps Deloitte shape executives’ expectations of HR in corporate transactions.”
- “Deloitte stands out for its deep understanding of the value that HR brings to activities across the M&A lifecycle from pre-announcement through to execution and implementation. This inclusive approach is responsible for simultaneously enabling readiness across the client organization at both the HR functional and individual levels. Deloitte also stands out for its ability to anticipate where the M&A market is headed and how organizations expect HR to drive value, something it achieves through continual market sensing and research informed by experience. This attribute is a key driver of Deloitte’s commitment to proactively adapt its intellectual property for this market, as it has most recently done with the release of M&A-specific versions of CulturePath and Retention Modeler."
