Ivna’s Chicago experience

As part of the Global Internship Program, I was one of the fortunate Deloitte Brazil employees selected to spend a month in the Deloitte US firm’s Chicago office. One of the first changes I noticed was my commute to work. In São Paulo, the traffic is really bad, but in Chicago I could walk to the office, and got to see every part of the commercial area where the Deloitte US firm’s Chicago office is located.

All the tax professionals in Chicago were really friendly. Every chance they had, they stopped to ask how I was doing, about my experience as a tax consultant back in Brazil, and our culture.

I believe the Global Internship Program offers Deloitte member firm interns a chance to see how large the world is and how you can grow your career by working for a member firm network that is truly global. You learn new methods of working to bring back to your home office or recognize something that only works in your home office. Finally, and most importantly, the greatest part of Global Internship Program is the networking, both for work and friendship. It’s amazing to see that the Deloitte network truly operates as one!
