Deloitte CIS launches legal skill for voice assistant Alice
Moscow, 06 June 2018. Deloitte CIS launches a legal skill for a voice assistant called Alice created on the basis of the Yandex.Dialogues platform that will allow users to understand whether the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is applicable to their organizations.
The GDPR, regulating the collection and processing of personal data for EU residents, came into force on 25 May 2018. It applies to all operators processing the personal data of data subjects residing in the EU.
The skill, which currently recognizes Russian speech only, is available through the Yandex app for iOS and Android and the Yandex. Browser for Windows. In order to find out if GDPR criteria apply to an organization, a user needs to ask Alice in Russian: «Запусти навык «Делойта» (Launch Deloitte skill)» and answer a few questions.
The skill for Yandex.Dialogues is yet another legal technology solution developed by Deloitte CIS. Deloitte had previously launched a free Telegram bot advising high tech companies on tax benefits.
Artem Tolkachev, Director of Legal Services for Technology Projects at Deloitte CIS, commented: “We believe that Deloitte’s technological solution will allow Russian companies to quickly evaluate the impact of the GDPR on their businesses, avoid conflicts with regulators and high fines, and preserve their customers' trust. Such products will make the future of legal services: users will be able to instantly receive answers to typical questions, while the lawyers’ expertise will become more accessible.”
