Running a Project Management Office with Human Capital Deloitte
The project was scoped in close collaboration with the client, but also across different functional teams from us at Deloitte. Access to cross-functional teams in large PMOs allows for diverse expertise and perspectives to be brought together, leading to more comprehensive problem-solving and the ability to quickly fill skill gaps.
Setting a clear PMO structure early on in a project is essential for project delivery as it provides a framework for standardizing processes, ensuring consistency, and facilitating effective communication and coordination across projects. We helped the client set-up and run the following selection of PMO processes:
- The Governance Structure, we supported the client with everything from project templates, reporting and KPIs, set the project structure and roles, meeting cadence, sub-project plans and timelines.
- Risk Management and reporting tool was implemented using Deloitte’s internal reporting tool with the relevant escalating processes to ensure close project review.
- We ran several project improvement initiatives from review of sub-project methodologies to stakeholder workshops.
- We contributed with PMO Expertise roles in Data Management to drive discussions in relation to AI and review of the current IT landscape.
- Our Project Managers ran and planned the different sub-project within the PMO. Both for the mapping of the current IT landscape and for selecting new applications to meet the business requirements.
- Agile workshops were held to help set new ways of working for the development teams.
