Pre-study of finance and procurement transformation
Enabled by SAP S/4HANA
Deloitte helped a Swedish company to outline a roadmap how to harmonize processes and system landscape and become more efficient, realized by an S/4HANA transformation. By carry-through interviews and labs with key stakeholders to reach an aligned to-be vision, a future application landscape and corresponding processes within all legal entities of the client were defined. The roadmap delivered included recommended scenarios and estimated effort to roll-out and implement S/4HANA throughout the organization.
Business Issue
The client derived from a decentralized organization, however, they had recently centralized their Finance and Procurement departments. They had a very fragmented system landscape throughout the organization, therefore processes looked different within each subsidiary. The situation interrupted harmonization and efficiency in the company group. The company initiated a pre-study on how to harmonize and make their processes more efficient enabled by SAP technologies, with Deloitte as the selected partner.
Value Delivered
Different implementation scenarios for each business area were identified, from the labs and interviews, and were evaluated. It included processes that are covered by order to cash, procure to pay and report to record.
The report was concluded with a recommended scenario and estimated effort, based on the S/4HANA Labs combined with our perspectives of an S/4HANA transformation. The recommendation included a roadmap how to roll-out and implement S4/HANA throughout the whole organization.

Engagement Scope and Approach
The objective of the pre-study was to define an application landscape and corresponding processes to be rolled-out for finance and procurement within all legal entities of the client.
Interviews were carried out with key stakeholders throughout the organization to get an understanding of the current processes and applications used. These were followed by S/4HANA Finance and Procurement Labs with the aim to collect information further and input to the roadmap, as well as educating the participants on S/4HANA. An important function of the Labs was to reach alignment across key stakeholders with the to-be vision setting and roadmap considerations.
