Celebrating our people - Annalisa Nawawi

Deloitte SEA has many amazing people and as we celebrate our 175th Anniversary this year, we want to salute our longest serving employees.  Here, we spotlight Annalisa Nawawi, Deloitte Indonesia’s Internal Services Manager, who has been with Deloitte Indonesia for 31 years!

1. When did you first join Deloitte, and what was your role?

In December 1988, I started my career at Hans Kartikahadi & Co., a member of Deloitte Haskins & Sells. I was an administration staff who helped with writing letters, typing financial reports, and filling.

2. What do you enjoy most about working at Deloitte?

I love working at Deloitte because everyone shares the same aspiration and is dedicated to Deloitte’s Purpose. This truly creates a family environment where everybody supports each other, and has great teamwork.

3. What is the most important lesson that you have learnt at Deloitte?

Several lessons that I've learnt at Deloitte are:                                      ​     

• Know what you stand for and what you don’t. It gives us clarity. I stand for persistence, hard work, and believe that one should never take shortcuts.
• Remain humble
• Never stop learning

4. What is your biggest achievement to date?

The biggest achievement that I've achieved is being an operations manager who supervised 33 staff in different operational areas including the office boy, courier, warehouse staff, typist, receptionist and operator.

5. Please share a little about your family and what do you like to do in your free time?
I got married about 24 years ago, and I have a beautiful daughter who has graduated from college. During my free time, I enjoy reading a book and spending time with my family and travelling with them.

6. What advice would you give to our new hires on their first day at Deloitte?

Be curious and ask questions so that you can learn. Meet people and build relationships with them so you understand what they do. Spend time learning how the area that you are working in is organised.

7. What would you like to wish Deloitte as we celebrate our 175th Anniversary?

I would like to congratulate Deloitte on its 175^th anniversary. I hope Deloitte will always be able to keep our clients satisfied and gain the much deserved recognition and fame. I also hope Deloitte will continue to provide its employees with career progression. Wishing Deloitte all the success for many more years to come!
