Torch Parade – Lighting up the Marina Bay

As one of the main partners, Deloitte was invited to be part of the SEA Games Torch Parade yesterday at The Promontory@Marina Bay.

Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong was the Guest of Honour and he lit the official SEA Games torch which was subsequently passed on to six torch-bearers for a parade that saw the flame travel 2.5km, passing through iconic areas in Marina Bay such as Clifford Square, Merlion Park, The Float at Marina Bay and the ArtScience Musuem before it was retired for the night.

Philip Yuen, Singapore Country Managing Partner, Ernest Kan, Singapore Clients & Markets Leader and Seah Gek Choo, Talent Partner represented Deloitte in the torch parade and participated in the mass walk together with colleagues from the Clients & Markets team.

Go50 – A Nation in Motion

In line with Deloitte’s commitment to “Youth & Education” causes and as part of the SG50 celebrations, Deloitte supported "Go50 - A Nation in Motion” on 3 June - Day 49 of 50 days of 50km daily run.

37 Deloitte runners followed the lead bubble in 10km relay segments, with 2 of our staff James Walton (Clients & Markets) and Wong Khee Chong (Tax) joining the two ultramarathon runners Lim Nghee Huat and Yong Yuen Cheng in their 50km! Kudos to all our runners who participated in this Go 50 run.

Singapore thrash Philippines to reach netball semi-finals

Following a draw with Malaysia the day before, the Singapore Netball team got their rhythm back and thrashed Philippines 84-12 to reach the Netball semi-finals that will be played on 6 June. The Singapore netballers put on a spectacular performance and led all the way. It was delightful to see the smiles on the faces of the Netball ladies when the match came to an end. Congratulations to the Singapore Netball team, including our Deloitte colleagues Charmaine Soh, Micky Lin and Kimberly Lim!
