28th SEA Games opening ceremony

The 28th SEA Games Opening Ceremony took place on 5 June at the National Stadium. The event was attended by many of our partners, staff and clients and two of our Deloitte Team Singapore athletes, Micky Lin and Derek Wong, were entrusted with the important task of saying the athletes’ oath and bearing the Games flag respectively.

One of the key highlights of the show was the torch relay. Derek, together with his father who was a SEA Games badminton gold medallist in 1983, ran one of the five legs in the torch relay before it was ultimately handed over to Fandi Ahmad and his son who lit up the giant cauldron outside the National Stadium.
