The final countdown: Deloitte Singapore counts down to 2 days to the official opening of the 28th SEA Games

SINGAPORE, 3 June 2015 – Today, Deloitte Singapore debuted the ‘D-2’, a human formation of the number ‘2’ to mark two days to the official opening of the 28th SEA Games.

The number ‘2’ holds great significance for Deloitte, as it is the second major sporting event that Deloitte is a partner of following a similar sponsorship of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

Together with two of their community partners, NorthLight School and Tung Ling Community Services, Deloitte employees gathered at NorthLight School’s new campus at Towner Road to create a human formation of the number “2”. Some 200 NorthLight school students, 30 elderly from Tung Ling Community Services and 200 Deloitte volunteers participated in the human formation alongside a specially organised carnival that marked the occasion.

The filming of ‘D-2’ was combined with Deloitte’s IMPACT Day 2015, an annual celebration of their commitment to the community, providing cherished opportunities for employees to connect with the students and elderly in this meaningful activity.

As the Official Professional Services Partner for the 28th SEA Games, Deloitte’s specialists have been working alongside the Games committee behind the scenes and over 160 Deloitte official Games volunteers will be helping out to ensure its success, bringing this major sporting event to Singaporeans and to the region. Through the involvement in the SEA Games, Deloitte hopes to ‘Deliver the Dream’ and make an impact that matters in the community.

To add to the festivities of the SEA Games, 37 Deloitte runners are running today in 10km relay segments in support of “Go 50 – A Nation in Motion”, led by ultra-marathoners Lim Nghee Huat and Yong Yuen Cheng. Two of the Deloitte runners are taking on the full 50km run alongside both ultra-marathoners.
