Deloitte appoints Richard Hayler as Southeast Asia Disputes and Arbitration Leader as part of plans to expand its forensic services in the region
Singapore, 3 April 2019 – Deloitte continues to strengthen its forensic services leadership in the region with Richard Hayler joining Deloitte Forensic on 1 April 2019 as a partner and Southeast Asia Disputes and Arbitration Leader, based in Singapore.
Richard brings with him a strong international and local track record, and deep expertise in solving complex valuation, financial and accounting issues in contentious matters and challenging commercial situations.
Based in Singapore for the past 7 years, he has advised clients on valuation; shareholder, M&A and contractual disputes; appropriate accounting treatment and irregularities; financial implications of contractual terms; patent infringement and royalty rates; market manipulation; alleged misappropriation; asset tracing and fraud investigations.
His litigation and arbitration experience includes the U.K. High Court, Singapore High Court, Singapore International Commercial Court, Tokyo District Court, Cayman Grand Court, and the Australian Federal Courts.
Prior to joining Deloitte, he was a Senior Managing Director with an advisory firm and before that, he was part of Deloitte Forensic in the London and Singapore practices.
His international exposure, paired with his diverse industry experience adds to his recognition as a leading damages, valuation and accounting expert witness and determiner.
Outside of Deloitte, Richard serves on the Standards Review Board of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), helping to develop international valuation standards. He is a member of the adjunct faculty at Singapore Management University’s School of Law, and is the Honorary Treasurer for the Board of Directors of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Singapore.
