CY Chew

CY Chew is Deloitte’s APAC Special Situations Leader, based in Singapore. He works with Deloitte’s Turnaround & Restructuring (T&R) and other Financial Advisory teams across Southeast Asia, India, Australia/New Zealand, Greater China, Korea, and Japan. Specialising in deal-making and providing end-to-end solutions, CY regularly represents creditors and debtors on high-value debt restructurings and debt financings.

CY holds responsibility for overseeing Deloitte’s Asia Debt Advisory practice, which specialises in assisting borrowers in sourcing, structuring, and placing various types of debt financing within the range of USD 50 million to 1 billion. He also possesses significant expertise in non-core and non-performing loan disposals/acquisitions, having contributed to transactions totaling over USD 10 billion in face value on global scale. CY is a member of the Global T&R Executive Committee and is the Global Lead for Deloitte’s Credit & Special Situations Funds Alliance Programme.

With over 17 years of work experience as a specialist in Debt Financing, Restructuring and Real Estate, CY has previously worked at international law firms in London, then he held held leadership roles at a major US bank based in London and Hong Kong, and a major Asian bank based in Singapore. Furthermore, CY is a solicitor in England and Wales, and he is bilingual in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
