Nearly 25 years ago, when we began our research into the competitive capabilities of high-performing manufacturing companies, we did not realize the extent to which fierce global competition would become the defining characteristic of our era.
The Global Competitiveness in Manufacturing Initiative has collected insights from hundreds of CEOs and senior manufacturing executives through direct face-to-face interviews as well as through executive workshops around the world over the past five years. As part of this initiative, a global survey was conducted in 2010 and repeated in 2013; together, the two surveys received a total of over 1,100 CEO responses.
