What were some of the factors that led you to pursue your career at Deloitte?

I’m someone who loves to try new things in life. Therefore, I wanted a job that would not only help me grow my skills but also grow as a person. A career that allows for freedom to be who you are. At Deloitte I found a career that offers quality work with opportunities to participate in sports and extracurricular activities.

In your own words, how would you describe Deloitte’s distinctive culture?

The culture at Deloitte is extremely open and inclusive. My colleagues are quite supportive, and they are always ready to lend a hand no matter how packed their schedules are. Work-life balance is an important aspect of Deloitte’s work culture. The organization ensures we are engaged through numerous fun networking activities that help forge strong bonds among colleagues. Outside work, the flexible working options certainly help balance our personal and professional responsibilities.

What stands out for you as the greatest benefit of working at Deloitte?

The fact that every little thing you do counts. Every idea is valued. You are recognized and respected for the effort you put into an activity. It makes you feel like an active part of something much bigger than yourself.

An instance that comes to my mind: I went to a senior leader with several ideas to improve our sustainability quotient. My suggestions included replacing paper cups with reusable ones, recycling and reusing of shredded paper, and so on. I was immediately appreciated for my efforts. And it didn’t stop at that. My ideas were taken seriously and implemented within a short span of time.

Tell us about your career path at Deloitte (How long have you worked for Deloitte, how has your career evolved?)

I joined Deloitte as a campus hire last year. Majority of my work involves working with a tool that helps automate access management systems while keeping in mind the cyber security aspect of it. It’s wonderful to see how my career is evolving. Apart from my technical skills, my people skills are being put to use through the role of a mental health and diversity ambassador. In the future, I would love to have more prowess in my field of work while being able to make a difference in people’s lives.

List your proudest professional and personal achievements.

My proudest moment was during my internship with Deloitte. All interns were divided into 5 groups for an innovation challenge. I was the team captain of my group. Despite parallelly being in other projects, we were able to come up with an idea that caught the eye of the seniors and we won the challenge. More importantly, it taught me to be a solutions architect, and taught us to collaborate as a team with great coordination under tough deadlines.

Who are you outside of Deloitte? (Hobbies, passions, interests)

I'm a sportsperson- I love to swim, play tennis and basketball. I love to sketch. I am also an aspiring violinist- still have a lot to learn!

What is the one piece of advice you would give to someone interested in joining Deloitte?

Have an open mind. Everyone here is unique in their own way. But if I have to choose one piece of advice- learn how to network. We have a diverse set of individuals at Deloitte and you get to learn so much from just conversing with them.
