See through the eyes of a change-maker

Vishnu Narins lights up when she talks about all that technology can enable. But she also tempers her excitement. That’s because she considers technology a tool that needs to be applied to the right business problem to enable innovation.

One size never fits all

In her position within Deloitte’s consulting practice, Vishnu’s first charge is to understand her clients’ business needs and pain points. She combines that insight with daily doses of industry news and technology trends along with her own technical experience and skills. It takes all of those things to lead teams that are designing and developing the technology to help businesses perform better.

Virtually all of the projects Vishnu leads involve clients facing change—the need to modernize processes and systems or to become more agile. They’re the kinds of changes that have a true impact on customers and, usually, revenues. But sometimes the most effective solutions and their deployment don’t come prepackaged. That’s where Vishnu’s knowledge and leadership come in. 

The power to fast-forward

The solutions that Vishnu and her team deliver help clients respond quickly to changing market conditions. Take, for instance, a food industry client using outdated planning processes that hampered its ability to plan for market fluctuations. After Vishnu’s team helped devise and implement a new planning and forecasting system, the analysis that once took weeks to achieve now requires mere seconds. Not only that, the new infrastructure itself continues to be easy to evolve. Vishnu strives to help solve for now and for what’s next.

Two minds are better

Collaboration is essential to what Vishnu is able to accomplish at Deloitte. She claims, convincingly, that she works with some of the smartest people in her field. And they’re not all wired like she is. For example, she collaborates closely with the Talent & Organization Performance practice to manage changes to processes, people and technology in large deployments. That knowledge sharing energizes her, and it keeps her eager to see what this bright collection of minds will tackle next.
