John leads the definition and delivery of our Diversity and Inclusion strategy in our Financial Services business. He came out as gay in 2007 and spoke then about the positive impact of being able to bring yourself to work. Through his progression in the firm, John has worked closely with leaders and colleagues to define a Diversity & Inclusion strategy that positively shapes the way teams work, the toolkit of our leaders and the daily support provided to individuals.
As an example of this, John shaped the definition and roll out of our Inclusion Ways of Working Framework across FS– a framework that places listening to each other at its core. It is now used across our Financial Services practice to help drive respect, inclusion and connection within our teams every day. And it’s not just within Deloitte that John’s actions have made an impact – in a project at a global bank, he has used and shared this framework across teams located in different global banking locations, allowing them to explore their cultural and individual differences together. He has also worked with engagement leaders in Deloitte to understand what support they need to bring more clients on our journey. Overall, John is passionate about creating an environment of inclusion so diversity is nurtured, supported and respected.
