Pre-entry visa exemption for Armenian citizens

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Armenia have signed a protocol amending a Memorandum of Understanding for visa-free travel for citizens of both countries. The amendment waives the requirement of pre-entry visas between the two countries for stays of up to 90 days.

The protocol is expected to come into effect after the exchange of diplomatic notifications between the two countries in the coming months.

Deloitte’s view

The decision by the UAE authorities is a positive development and once implemented, will allow visa-free entry for Armenian nationals seeking to visit the UAE.

This decision by the UAE authorities also aims to promote travel to the country for Armenian nationals.  We will continue to monitor for further updates on when the protocol becomes effective.
