Privacy Notice for the Switzerland's Best Managed Companies Programme

This statement covers your participation in Switzerland's Best Managed Companies Programme managed by Deloitte AG (Pfingstweidstrasse 11, 8005 Zurich, Switzerland, www.deloitte.ch), a company registered in Switzerland, using a technical solution provided by RealtimeBoard, Inc. dba Mural. Deloitte AG is committed to protecting your information by handling it responsibly and safeguarding it using appropriate technical, administrative and physical security measures.

Your information

Information collected by Deloitte AG and the other Programme sponsors: SIX Swiss Exchange (Pfingstweidstrasse 110, 8021 Zurich), Julius Baer (Bahnhofstrasse 36, 8001 Zürich) and Pitched GmbH (Tierloch 13, 8197 Rafz) collectively, "Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies" and also referred to below as "we", "us", or "our") is used to evaluate eligibility and candidacy for, and to support the activities, administration, and analysis of the Switzerland's Best Managed Companies Programme (the "Programme").

Information collected as part of the Programme, including but not limited to contact information of participants, information supporting an organization’s candidacy and evaluation, and information collected through Programme events (“Participant Information”) may be processed by Switzerland's Best Managed Companies, its sponsors, or other service providers in order to support the activities, administration and analysis of the Programme.

Participant Information may also be used to identify and inform you by using electronic messaging and other forms of communications, about services, information, and events when Switzerland's Best Managed Companies believe these communications and opportunities will interest you, and for research and development purposes.

Participant Information collected by or provided to Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies may be used, processed, disclosed and stored outside of Switzerland. Participant Information may also be shared with third parties that provide administrative, technical, or support services to Switzerland's Best Managed Companies.

Participant data such as contact details and registration questionnaires can be passed on to the programme sponsors (SIX, Julius Baer and Pitched) for statistical and marketing purposes. This excludes financial information and information that could lead to a significant market disadvantage.

Participant Information may be aggregated and Deloitte AG may use, disclose, or make public that information as part of research and advice, including benchmarking, provided that such Participant Information will be anonymised and not subject to association with the participant.

Participant Information may also be shared with other Deloitte entities outside Switzerland, including but not limited to Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a UK private limited company (“DTTL”), its member firms (including in the US) and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates (including Deloitte AG), provided that such transfer is permissible under data protection legislation. Deloitte Member Firms had internally entered into an inter-firm agreement, that relies on the current EU Standard Contractual Clauses to cover off transfers of personal data from the EU/EEA/UK and Switzerland to other Deloitte Member Firms, as permitted under Article 46(2)(c) of the GDPR and in the FADP.   

Participants agree that Switzerland's Best Managed Companies may incorporate a link to their corporate website into www.bestmanagedcompanies.ch if they are successful.

Information security

Steps to safeguard information provided to Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies including, but not limited to participant information include password-protecting access to participant profiles on our website, as well as technological and organizational measures to protect information against loss of and unauthorized access to your information. Where Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies works with third parties, we take measures to ensure your information receives an appropriate level of protection, including contractual safeguards in agreements with Programme sponsors and members of the Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies Jury. Information may be disclosed to law enforcement, regulatory or other government agencies or third parties, where necessary or desirable to comply with legal or regulatory obligations or requests or in support of the administration of the Programme or to otherwise provide infrastructure support to Deloitte.

Your choices

Switzerland's Best Managed Companies respects the choices of participants and their identified contacts. Individuals may review, update and correct their personal information, and request removal from our mailing list or sponsor mailing lists at any time. However, certain elements of the Programme regarding application status and Programme updates will require system-generated messages to be sent. Programme participants cannot opt out from receiving these messages without withdrawing from the Programme.

Retention

We will hold your personal data for the longest of the following periods: (i) as long as is necessary for the relevant activity within the Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies event held in June 2023, and to keep contact with you (ii) any retention period that is required by law.

Updates to the Privacy Notice

Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies may update this Privacy Notice from time to time, in our sole discretion, by placement of an updated Privacy Notice on this website, with the date of the most recent update at the bottom of this page. Participants are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Notice from time to time, so as to be aware of any changes.
