Celebrate our centenary with Shenzhen clients and contacts

On 16 November 2017, Deloitte hosted a high-level dinner with major clients, government officials and important guests in Shenzhen to celebrate the firm's 100th anniversary in China. It is also a great occasion for us to express our goodwill to key clients and contacts in Shenzhen, where we first established our presence in 2002.

The dinner was hosted by our China CEO Patrick Tsang, Southern Region Managing Partner Dennis Chow, Shenzhen Office Managing Partner Tom Kwok, together with the Shenzhen office partnership team. Over 200 partners and guests were in attendance, including government officials, representatives of business organizations and senior executives of Deloitte's key clients in Shenzhen.

In his welcome remarks, China CEO Patrick Tsang highlighted the firm's commitment to supporting companies in Shenzhen seize the opportunities arising from new economic programs put forward by the Chinese government, such as the Belt & Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Initiative.

As guest representative, Ms. LIN Hui, Vice Executive President of Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce (SGCC) acknowledged the joint effort of Deloitte and SGCC to organize the Deloitte TF 20 Program, which provides a launch pad for Shenzhen companies to enter the capital market. Former Shenzhen Vice-Mayor Mr. TANG Jie, now the Professor of the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Institute of Technology, and Mr. HE Liang Liang, a seasoned political commentator from Phoenix TV, delivered keynote speeches on the night. Professor Tang shared his insights about the innovation journey of Shenzhen, while Mr. He discussed the new opportunities emerging from China's economy, such as how the Belt & Road Initiative could help combat the problem of overcapacity in China.

The year of 2017 marks a significant milestone in the history of Deloitte China, and with the support of leaders in the government, businesses and academia, we will continue to live by our purpose of making an impact that matters for our clients, people and society.
