HKEX ESG Implementation Review and the Improvement of the Enterprise Sustainability Management Seminar

With issues like climate change, environmental pollution and economic inequality continuously in the public eye, the sustainability performance of companies has become an important measurement of development stage and risk exposure of businesses.
In 2017, The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) implemented the second stage of its Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Guide. All 23 indicators are now classified as “comply or explain". Further, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are getting more attention from government and businesses, with the China Ministry of Environmental Protection and China Securities Regulatory Commission signing a cooperation agreement on environmental information disclosure and Shanghai Stock Exchange planning to release ESG guidelines. These factors all indicate businesses are facing challenges and opportunities brought about by sustainable development.
To explore how businesses can better meet regulatory requirements and increasing demands from investors and other stakeholders on non-financial information disclosure, Deloitte is hosting an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) seminar in Beijing on 13 September 2018. The topic of this seminar is HKEx ESG Reporting Guide Implementation Review and Improvements in Business Sustainability Performance. At the seminar, we will review the ESG reporting implementation of HKEx-listed companies and discuss how businesses can better integrate management with sustainability.
